Groundhog Day is a comedy film that was released in 1993. It was directed by Harold Ramis(R.I.P) and the main stars were Bill Murray(Phil), Andie MacDowell(Rita), and Chris Elliot(Larry). It is one of those rare comedies that is not only funny, but also has heart. I watched it today, and I was amazed at how much the film still holds up. It’s still incredibly funny, and the performances are still top notch(yes, even comedies require acting skills, some more than others). Groundhog Day is a great heartwarming comedy that shows how a person can change and what effect that person can have on others. Early on when Phil was an ass to everyone, I kept thinking about The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. Phil was the grinch early on, but by the end he redeemed himself just like the grinch did, only there’s one large difference, Phil stole Groundhog Day.
